Canadian Tall Wood Buildings Design Guide
In Australia, and internationally, the quest for low carbon buildings is leading to a wider consideration of the use of timber in structures prevuiously dominated by steel and concrete.
To date there have been some massive timber buildings of up to 10 storeys, but a range of factors, including building codes and regulations, have matigated against taller structures.
This extensive 370 page guide should be fascinating reading for anyone with an interest in massive timber construction. The contents are comprehensive, covering everything from structural design issues, fire design and case studies to environmental impact and occupants' health to material options.
The Guide is produced by FPI Innovations, Vancouver, Canada. Please read the Notice on page 2.
