With our first event a great success, the WS Young Professionals Network (WSYPN) is back for our second meeting from 6pm on Thursday the 20th of September.
Meeting on a monthly basis, the WSYPN provides young professionals with an opportunity to let their hair down and meet peers in the industry, while upskilling in the exciting new area of timber design and construction. This ongoing event is open to all young professionals under 35 years old who are currently employed in the property/design/construction industry, and will be informal in nature, having been designed to promote discussion and connection between the attendees. Event sizing will be strictly capped due to venue constraints, so it’s important to get in quick if you are keen to be part of this exciting new initiative.
Registration is FREE but compulsory for all those attending.
This month we are thrilled to have Danielle Pacella from Jackson Clements Burrows Architects presenting on the studio’s first mass timber building: the Monash University Student Accommodation Project (Peninsula Campus). With over 10 years of experience at some of Melbourne’s leading architecture firms, Danielle will be sharing her knowledge and experience gained from her current project, a six storey, 150 bed student accommodation building for Monash University.
Driven by the ultimate target of passive house certification, this building utilises cross laminated timber to achieve the airtightness and thermal insulation criteria of the standard in an environmentally conscious and aesthetically appealing form. Join us as Danielle provides a great insight into the design and construction of one of Victoria’s first mass timber buildings.
