See the wooden speakers? Hear the sounds of the trees and forest.
Yes, they look like bottomless fruit crates, but they are indeed speakers as created by JVC Kenwood Corp. What's more, you can subscribe to an internet service that streams real time sounds of the forest through them from microphones set in the mountains in Japan's Takayama city, Gifu Prefecture, and Morotsuka village, Miyazaki Prefecture.
Through the vibrations of the handcrafted chestnut frames, listeners will be able to hear the sounds of birds and insects and the wind rustling through tree branches.
Apparently the design of the speakers is not ideally suited to music, as they can't generate deep bass sounds, but they do produce good medium and high frequencies, typical of wind noise and insects.
The manufacturers claim that the speaker, through the vibrating frame is capable of disseminating sound throughout a room.
