Hartrow – a modern, sustainable refurbishment of a 1960s house
Hartrow is a refurbishment and extension project that celebrates its mid-century styling whilst bringing function and performance up to twenty-first century standards.
Everything we do is shaped by our love for thinking (designing) and making (building).
It is essential to our architecture that materials, detail and construction are an integral and informative part of the design process. Materials, are what realise the architecture.
Founding director Magnus Ström was brought up in Sweden where there is an innate love for nature, light, and the outdoors. As modern architecture developed in the 20th century, decoration for its own sake was shunned. Instead, well designed purposeful products, furniture and architecture created an everyday beauty. And still do.
