The Australian Timber Design Awards are a national competition to promote and encourage outstanding timber design in the built environment professions. Now in their thirteenth year, the Awards are distinguished by a proud heritage of innovation and achievement.
The aim of the Awards is to develop a timber design ethos through the encouragement and showcasing of superlative timber design in a variety of applications. A broad range of entry categories demonstrates the diversity of timber and permits recognition of achievement in a variety of areas.
The Australian Timber Design Awards are open to builders, designers, architects, engineers and landscapers: to anyone involved in the design or building of structures that feature timber. A Rising Star Award is available to students and entrants aged 35 or under.
Timber is a beautiful, strong and environmentally friendly material. The Australian Timber Design Awards encourage entries that showcase these properties. Categories recognise outstanding use of timber in residential buildings and public or commercial buildings.
The 2015 Australian Timber Design Awards entry period closed on 26 June 2015. This year has seen a record number of entries and we would like to thank all of the entrants and wish them good luck!
The quality of the projects entered has been astounding. We look forward to an exciting presentation evening in Melbourne on 17 September 2015 -- at which the winners will be announced and the Commemorative Australian Timber Design Awards magazine will be released (featuring the winners and all the projects entered).
