Over the past 20 months the Building Commission of WA has undertaken the most comprehensive investigation into construction compliance in WA since the introduction of the Building Services Act.
The findings question the level of compliance to Australian Standards particularly in critical structural areas of sheet metal-clad timber roof framing systems, and whether existing controls established in the Acts have been effective.
The Building Commission will discuss the audit process, level of compliance, and recommendations to improve compliance to ensure Standards and Codes reflect WA's unique building construction conditions.
Timber Insight will introduce new developments to support improvement in onsite roofing methods and compliance.
