Various speakers at the forefront of contemporary construction methodologies will address this topic and discuss their projects and how they successfully achieved them.
The 2019 Australian Timber Design Award Overall winner, The Seed House will be presented by James Fitzpatrick, Fitzpatrick+partners and Jane Armstrong, from TTW. Winner of the Public Building category, Our Lady of Assumption School Catholic School will be presented by Knut Menden from BVN, and he will talk about the construction and procurement process.
Case studies from Australia and overseas on modern mass timber buildings will also be made, including a three storeys hybrid timber, concrete and steel car park.
David Rowlinson will discuss the Planet Ark’s seminal report ‘Wood – Nature Inspired Design’, outlining the importance of connecting buildings with the natural world and shows a proven positive impact on health and wellbeing.
Completing the program will be Adam Jones from WoodSolutions who will discuss the recently published WoodSolutions Design Guide on Mid-rise Timber Structural Engineering.
Also available will be suppliers and providers of services to the growing timber systems building sector.
