Timber Fabrication for Commercial Projects & Innovations in Timber Connections
The properties of sawn timber and engineered timber products such as LVL, glulam, I-beams and now cross-laminated timber (CLT) can allow speedy, safe and durable solutions in commercial and multi-residential projects. Being aware of the needs of specialist timber fabricators and modern joining technologies allows structural engineers to take full advantage of the benefits. This seminar brings two people with a wealth of experience.
Robert Nestic will explore what can be fabricated in timber and discuss the elements that make timber fabrication easy.
Helmut Stoll will discuss modern timber screws and their application in the building of small to multi-storey timber structures including latest CLT buildings. Helmut will also discuss joining steel/timber, Eurocode 5, fire safety, corrosion aspects and further design information.
