With changes to the National Construction Code now permitting
Deemed-To-Satisfy timber solutions in all building classes for
three to eight storey buildings, developers and design teams are
increasing use of timber building systems in mid-rise construction
around Australia.
This seminar will discuss how the need for suitably skilled engineering and
design professionals is on the rise as the use of timber-framed construction
and cross-laminated timber (CLT) in mid-rise building provides construction
and environmental benefits over more typical forms of construction,
particularly in urban in-fill developments.
Join us for this networking-style breakfast event to hear from our three
experts; two of whom will discuss the key engineering considerations for
timber mid-rise construction (including the newly released ‘Mid-rise Timber
Building Structural Engineering’ Technical Design Guide #50 by
WoodSolutions) and the third will present a case study on the timber-frame
De Havilland Apartment building in Midland.
