SEMINAR - Innovation in the External Use of Timber
The use of timber externally continues to grow in popularity and for good reason – it is aesthetically pleasing, a natural insulator, lightweight, has low embodied energy, excellent environmental credentials and if specified correctly, provides a durable and beautiful long lasting design solution.
With the continuing advances in engineering process technologies and design more and more wood options are becoming available for external application. Some amazing new wood production and treatment initiatives have been developed and are gaining popularity with designers around the world around; including radial sawn products, new heat and chemical modification that dramatically improves species durability, and even the age-old Japanese art of timber charring (Shou Sugi Ban).
This free seminar will showcase a range of current and new innovative product and design approaches for external timber use in applications such as cladding, decking, boardwalks, engineered columns & beams and screens. Industry experts will provide the details needed for proper specification and will present some of the excellent projects that showcase these products.
This seminar is a must for all building and design professionals including architects, building designers, engineers, certifiers, developers, builders, regulators, educators and students.
