The Construction Scotland Innovation Centre (CSIC) works with industry to develop the very latest in off-site construction.
CSIC’s purpose is to support and link expertise around the country tofind solutions to innovation challenges. The centre has a 3,500 m2 Innovation Factory that is fitted out with the latest in digital fabrication equipped such as Industrial and Collaborative Robot, CLT Vacuum Press, Offsite Manufacturing Cell and Tilting Transfer Tables, Multi-Material 3D Printer, timber cutting and milling equipment, Microsoft Reality Headset and HoloLens Augmented.
Presenter Ms Black, Head of Business Relationships at CSIC will take usthrough the journey of this emerging industry in Scotland, articulating the challenges it has faced, the progress it is making and the strategic, technical and skills initiatives that are in place to help the industry grow quickly through collaboration to meet the challenging build and sustainability targets put in place by the Scottish Government.
In addition to Ms Black, there will be a panel of experts in construction fabrication to discuss their experiences and answer questions.

WoodSolutions has partnered up with Western Sydney University’s Centre for Smart Modern Construction (c4SMC). The centre aim is to maximise the potential of the construction industry in Western Sydney, and beyond, as it responds to the challenges of sustainability, digitalisation, industrialisation and globalisation.
