Wellness + Wood = Productivity
Connection to nature is essential to wellbeing - yet past design practices in urbanization have led more to a detachment from the natural world.
Practices though are rapidly changing, as designers embrace the principles of biophilic design - including incorporating natural elements into indoor environments that assist in dramatically improving the health, wellbeing and productivity of building occupants.
New research into biophilic design, launched last week at the 2018 Green Cities Conference, has revealed that buildings designed on biophilic principles, including natural looking wooden surfaces in the workplace, are strongly associated with increased employee well-being and satisfaction; in turn enhancing engagement, creativity, innovation, retention and wellness - and all of which leads to improvements in productivity and personal and business success.
Come and learn from the experts, taking theory to practical application, with presentations: on the latest biophilic research, the biophilic opportunities in architectural design, case studies on exemplar projects, including the magnificent timber Library at the Dock, and how biophilic design is likely to be embraced in future green building standards.
