This free seminar will provide the latest developments in lightweight timber-frame and mass timber construction.
WoodSolutions is now conducting COVID safe ‘face-to-face’ seminars.
This free seminar will update the latest developments in lightweight timber-frame and mass timber construction. These topics will be addressed by various speakers at the forefront of contemporary construction methodologies.
Three case studies will be presented showcasing the use of timber in different applications. A modern all-timber sports stadium; a stunning CLT performance space and a five-storey office building all utilising timber as part of the featured design.
Following this, there will be a discussion on new products and uses of engineered timber in lightweight timber-framed construction, including off-site manufactured elements such as cassette floors, bracing and stairs. There will also be discussion around hybrid timber constructions, mixing timber with other materials promoting more timber being used.
Rounding out the seminar will be information on the NCC’s Performance-Based Design Brief for structural design (a new requirement in the NCC for all construction). Also available will be suppliers and providers of services to this building sector.
