Description
Connections in Mass Timber bracing systems are often the most tedious, time consuming, and expensive aspects of design and assembly of timber buildings. Join us for a discussion with two of the most experienced FEA and fabrication-oriented engineers in the space from TimberXP. We will discuss the common pitfalls, lessons from their experience, and how to set up your team and design strategy to achieve a smooth, cost-effective execution of your mass timber bracing system.
Speakers
Marco Arcolini, Principal Engineer at TimberXP
Jesse Hallen, Director at TimberXP
Marco and Jesse formed TimberXP together, identifying a gap in the market addressing highly engineered mass timber systems. Marco established TimberXP after practising as a structural engineer for 15+ years with a focus on engineered timber and hybrid structures, having led the design of some recent cutting-edge timber masterpieces. With over 12 years industry experience, Jesse has specialised in advanced structural analysis and the design of engineered timber structures. He has been involved in the R&D of mass timber and hybrid structural systems at the University of Technology, Sydney, as well as through Cooperative Research Centre Projects (CRC-P) between Lendlease and Monash University involving innovation in mass timber for residential applications.
