The Responsible Wood Forest Certification Scheme (formerly the Australian Forest Certification Scheme, or AFCS) consists of two Australian Standards – The Australian Standard® for Sustainable forest management (AS4708) and the Australian Standard® for Chain of custody of forest products (AS4708). Responsible Wood (formerly Australian Forestry Standard Ltd) not only administers this scheme but is an accredited standards development organisation, promoting sustainable management of Australia's forests and providing traceability, through the development management of AS4708 and AS4707. Responsible Wood is also the PEFC National governing body for Australia. The Responsible Wood Forest Certification Scheme has been endorsed by the PEFC.
