Extensive acoustic research programs, in the laboratory and on site, have shown that wood-based construction systems are able to meet or exceed the sound insulation performance requirements, when expert design advice is utilised.
This webinar describes the current best practices, with reference to WoodSolutions Technical Design Guide 44 “CLT Acoustic Performance”, and:
- A comparison of the BCA requirements versus AAAC recommendations, for both massive and light timber frame systems
- Suggestions on how to coordinate structural connections and sound flanking issues
- Two examples from completed projects: the LaTrobe University student accommodation (VIC) and the AVEO Norwest Retirement Independent Living Units (NSW)
Presenters:
Amanda Robinson - Marshall Day Acoustics
Joel Parry-Jones - PKA
