The third webinar of this AS1684 series focuses on the key requirements for tie-downs and connections in residential homes and will be delivered by Tim Rossiter.
Tim provides a guide to correct tie-downs in accordance with AS1684, extending from load determination to selection of the appropriate connection fixed in the appropriate manner. Included will be some practical guidance on interpreting “engineer-speak” to assist visualisation when wind loading is an occasional load event.
Tim Rossiter, GM Building Solutions Asia Pacific, previously State Manager NSW & WA, and Chief Engineer, at MiTek Australia, is a civil engineer with 35 years timber truss and frame industry experience. Tim was a member of the taskforce that originally created AS4440 Installation of nail plated timber trusses. He has been a lecturer for the Master Builders Association in NSW in structures and timber framing and is currently a Director of the Timber Development Association.
