This Standard specifies requirements for building practice and the selection, placement and fixing of the various structural elements used in the construction of timber-framed houses or alterations and additions to such buildings. The Standard was recently revised to make technical changes, correct mistakes and clarify the application of the document. Technical changes include:
- Flooring and decking changes to reflect current research and experiences
- New nail and screw fixings for thick timber
- Bracing capacity change to reflect the use of common timber
- Amending metal tie-down connections details
